HEALTH CANADA

Health Canada is one of the world’s most respected health regulating bodies. Health Canada is a governmental agency that regulates labelling compliance for all food and supplements sold in Canada. Health Canada provides a Natural Products Number (#NPN) for food or supplement products that have been scrutinized by them, and subsequently approved, for certain function claims. Health Canada scrutinizes the nutritional components of the raw materials, the historical data of use (GRAS) and substantiated research about the raw materials. They then determine what claims can be made about the product’s raw materials in marketing materials. Edica Naturals believes that this is an important process as it can help the consumer understand what the product does and to guide the consumer to make the best choice for their personal use. This Health Canada regulatory process, from beginning to end, can take upwards of 1.5 years. Edica Naturals is proud to have Health Canada’s accepted health and function claims for each one of its supplemental products.

  FDA

The Food Drug Administration (FDA) is the United States governing body to review the safety of food and supplements in the United States. Unlike Health Canada, the FDA does not provide anyone with a NPN. Instead, the FDA reviews applications and files regarding food and supplements and provides suggested function claims and use based upon the raw materials. Edica Naturals believes that this is an important process as it can help the consumer understand what the product does and to guide the consumer to make the best choice for their personal use. This FDA regulatory process, from beginning to end, can take upwards of 6 months. Edica Naturals is proud to have the FDA’s accepted health and function claims for each one of its supplemental products.

The suggested functions and uses for each product are listed on each product page.
